Non-contact electronic moisture meter for measuring wood humidity ECV-99 is designed to measure the absolute humidity of lumber, blanks, parts and products made of chemically untreated wood of pine, spruce, birch, oak, beech at woodworking enterprises, in construction, special industries and other enterprises using wood. Measurements are carried out without introducing electrodes into the wood. The operating principle is based on the absorption of high-frequency electromagnetic field energy in a dielectric medium.
The device's sensor generates an electromagnetic field of a certain configuration that penetrates the measured object. Water in wood is a strong absorber for electromagnetic waves of this frequency. By estimating the portion of energy absorbed in the measured sample and comparing the data with the calibration characteristic, the device displays the relative humidity values on a three-digit (one decimal place) liquid crystal display.
